Metis & ABGA Collaboration: GameFi Quantum Leap Accelerator Program in Partnership with Google Cloud Web3

Metis is proud to announce its strategic collaboration with ABGA, a global Web3 gaming club, to launch the GameFi Quantum Leap Accelerator Program in Partnership with Google Cloud Web3. This initiative is designed to assist professional game developer teams in their transition from Web2 to GameFi, providing the necessary guidance, support, and resources. By helping the developers on their journey into the Web3 gaming space, this partnership aims to ensure the long-term growth, sustainability, and success of their projects.

The GameFi Quantum Leap: Metis & ABGA Accelerator Program in Partnership with Google Cloud Web3 will officially launch with a ceremony on September 17 at 10:50 AM during InnoBlock 2024, held at the Singapore EXPO. The ceremony will mark the beginning of a new chapter in the evolution of Web3 gaming, made possible through the collaboration of the three partners.

This allows developers to focus entirely on creating engaging games without worrying about infrastructure management, scalability, or security.

About the Program

The program is aimed at experienced Web2 development teams, helping them transition into the GameFi space while providing support for building and nurturing sustainable Web3 gaming projects. To facilitate this, a dedicated $10 million fund has been allocated to fuel innovation, provide robust support for promising projects, and drive the growth of the GameFi ecosystem on the Metis Layer 2 network. During the 6–12 month incubation period, projects will receive support at every developmental stage, including technical assistance and strategic advice to help navigate their Web3 gaming journey.

Program Framework

The grant amounts from the $10M fund will be milestone-based, tailored to each project, with no fixed budget limits. The program will incubate 12 projects, ranging from early-stage concepts to established ventures, thus supporting innovation at all levels. With a duration of 6–12 months, the program will provide ample time for thorough project development and refinement. Finally, the milestone-based approach will ensure customized support at various stages of development, aligned with each project’s needs and their potential contribution to the Metis ecosystem.

Evaluation Policy

The evaluation criteria for projects applying include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Potential to revolutionize the gaming industry through blockchain integration
• A developed Minimum Viable Product (MVP) demonstrating the concept
• Close alignment with Metis’s strategic goals of driving innovation, enhancing community engagement, and contributing to the Metis ecosystem growth
• Demonstration of a basic understanding of blockchain gaming, a detailed project plan, and potential for long-term sustainability and positive community impact
• An independently robust and sustainable project development journey
• Capability to develop a product or technology with significant competitive advantages

In addition, there is a one-week waiting period for reapplications, along with a three-strike policy.

Incubation Stages

Initial Stage:

The project has already developed a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) demonstrating its core functionality and value proposition. Additionally, it has formulated a comprehensive and well-structured business model that outlines its revenue streams, target market, and growth strategies. At this stage, the project is actively seeking investment and oir layer1/2 ecosystem grants to support the development of the Web3 GTM framework and enhance its business model.

Growing Stage:

The project has successfully completed fundraising or initial grants, demonstrating investor/ supporter confidence and market traction with a growing user base. Well-positioned in the blockchain gaming ecosystem, it’s now entering a critical development phase. The team is preparing to launch its native token for the in-game economy and is engaging with exchanges for potential listings.

Mature Stage:

The project has successfully secured listings on reputable exchanges, demonstrating market validation and liquidity for its token. The team is now focused on expanding its ecosystem development. They are actively expanding their community and enhancing their tokenomics model based on data and user feedback.
